Meeting of Repentistas “Verseando con Ingenio”: This event took place for the first time in 2007, as a project designed by Coros y Danzas de Ingenio and José Yeray Rodríguez Quintana.

Our objectives are to rescue, reassess, strengthen and disseminate this art, while we attempt to stimulate its creation and achieve social recognition by public institutions and encourage repentistas to meet each other and formalize a wide group.

Besides introducing the many and varied forms of “Repentismo” that exist in the world, mainly in Latin America and the Canary Islands, we try to work primarily on developing the basic techniques of improvisation in verse in addition to teach “Repentismo” and other forms of oral transmission which are presented as a sign of cultural identity of all peoples.
