Coros y Danzas of Ingenio, defender of traditions.

The existence of Coros y Danzas de Ingenio is situated in the year 1949, when the now defunct Women’s Section, had among its many activities to revitalize the Canary Folklore.

Since its beginning, its efforts and objectives have been focused on rescue, preserve and disseminate the local folklore. As a result of this work we have dances and songs as “La Isa de la Paria, Polka del Capotín, Polka del Artesano, Sorondongo de Ingenio, Rancho de Ánimas, El Canario, etc” . All this taking into account the wide folklore of the islands.

Parallel to this activity, there are also the called Craft School, traditional music school and nursery, which are our main value to perpetuate our legacy, teaching for living and educating in values.

“Coros y Danzas de Ingenio” has been the ambassador of our popular culture on the five continents and has official recognition of public and private entities, governments of various countries, royal houses and getting the popular nomination of “Traveler Group”.

Annually, Coros y Danzas de Ingenio develops other important projects such as the Recital of Carols, dances of Taifa, the International Folklore Festival and the Meeting of Repentistas “Verseando con Ingenio”.
